Frequently Asked Questions Q) Can we pick every song you play? A) Yes, but I don't recommend it. If you want a party for just you and your Bride or Groom then no problem! I would not want to be YOUR guest at your wedding not dancing to YOUR favorite songs. I recommend picking 25-30 songs and then leave it up to the DJ where to go. If you want to "steer" things in a certain direction, please let your DJ know. Q) Can I see you "In Action"? (Non-referrals) A) I can't invite you to somebody else's wedding. Every event is different and unless you invite the same guests to your party, yours will be different also. If you provide your guests a comfortable ambiance, dinner, refreshments and an opportunity to relax, then and only then will they talk, mingle, dance and put aside their hesitations. Q) How can I get a hold of the "Candid Digital Photos" you took? A) Send me an e-mail, let me know how much you enjoyed everything and also anything you would change and I'll be happy to send you a link to the pictures. (Please forward to your guests) Q) Do you think You are the Best Mobile DJ? A) I am proud to say NO! The moment I say Yes, then I will stop trying to be the best. What matters to me is that YOU think I am! Q) Is there a "Travel Charge"? A) Not within the DFW Metroplex! Q): Do you have a basic itinerary I can use for my wedding? A): Yes. Click here. Q): Where are all your Cd's? A): I use a modified Mp3 format. No big table full of CD's. Q): Do you have a list of songs? A): Yes. Click Here! What kind of camera do you use? Click Here to find out! Q): What are some of your favorite audio brands? A): I absolutely put my money on QSC amps! They're clean, quiet and have never let me down, they also have a 6 yr warranty! JBL Mpro Subs are designed well, do the job and are solid. Audio Technica mics are fantastic, make even me sound great and Greg at Audio Technica service takes care of everything! Q): What is an Mp3? A): Your typical CD has 15-20 songs and they're about 35 to 55 megabytes each, that's over half a GIG! Mp3's are over 90% smaller! (MPEG 1 layer 3. Motion Picture Experts Group approved this digital compression audio coding algorithm standard "Mp3" developed by Fraunhofer Institute. It will accurately compress audio at 12 to 1.) Q): Are Mp3's better than Cd's or Sony minidisk? A): Better from a software utilization standpoint. Any compression software will lose some quality, It's all "sampling". Taking a small "sample" of a hoagie will give you an idea of what that sandwich is like but you may miss one pickle or black olive. You have to determine what's best for what you. If you are "archiving" all your music and trading in your CD's then you want a "near perfect" copy at home (192kbps-256kbps). You won't get that with you're typical download of 128kbps. Remember...whenever you download a file, someone originally had to create it. A great DJ using CD's is still a great DJ, Mp3's are just more convenient. Q): Why don't you charge more if your services really are comparable to more expensive companies? A): I charge what I would want to pay for my own party. I don't have any equipment or truck rental. I also don't have any irresponsible employees to worry about. But If you really want to pay me more... that's O.K. too! Q): What makes the party fun for you? A): Knowing that the guests probably have never heard music played the way I do it. Clean mid's and highs, nice even bass - not boomy but a nice tight bottom end. I really like good clean sound! And seeing people dance that haven't in years...probably since the last wedding they went to. Q): Why do you mention that you play in stereo? A): I am the only DJ I know of that's actually set up in stereo! Other Dj's run a big 2 channel amp with one channel going to both speakers and the other channel going to the sub. It works, but I like to use a dedicated amp for each channel and another for my sub. Music is recorded in stereo for a reason so I like to play it that way! Q): How much notification must you have in advance? A): If I'm available, Immediately!. Q): Is that YOU (ThatDjGuy) in those chatrooms talking trash? A): No. I am not affliated in any way with whoever that is... nor do I frequent chatrooms. Thank's everyone and keep the questions coming! That Dj Guy
